Knitting

The bad season has begun and with it, temperatures are falling. The cold is harder and harder on Granny Tweety with each passing year, so Nanny undertook to knit her a sweater with a big cable on the back. Yesterday night, she fetched the bag holding it but finally rather read. She put the bag beside her bed. This morning, she brought our meal and closed the Crocoland’s door to avoid the grown ups to be tempted to eat it. When she came back, she could admire our work. There were two balls of wool in Nanny’s bag : one that was being used and one new. We knew that she would have to use the two of them so, now, no need to tie the ends, all the knots are already done. And for all the stuff with “knit one” or “purl one” and “cross stitches to left”, “cross stitch to right”, we wanted to help, so we messed and crossed all the stitches to the left and to the right. She had made sketches and patterns on a notebook to help her, we tore off all the used pages, so that now, her notebook is nearly new : nobody would know somebody already wrote on it, just that little whippets went “through” it. The sole concern is that being eager to finish fast our task, we got tangled with the wool threads and we were tied up. Nanny freed us, but we’re not sure our help to contribute to Granny’s comfort was truly appreciated at its real value…
